What is sustainable consumption of red meat?

Eating red meat, such as beef and lamb,  three to four times a week in a variety of healthy, balanced meals is sustainable:
  • Consistent with the Australian Dietary Guidelines – providing essential nutrients, including protein, iron, zinc, omega-3s and vitamin B12.
  • Supports sustainable consumption - ensuring portion sizes of red meat are in line with Australian Dietary Guidelines in a variety of healthy, balanced meals.
